Martha (Brig) logbook, 1803-1804.

The logbook of the brig Martha details two shipping voyages from Salem, Mass., to Martinique, Aug. 1803-Jan. 1804. The second voyage log is incomplete. The brig's home port was Salem; the owners were Moses and Penn Townsend and Isaac Very; the master was Penn Townsend. During its voyage, the Martha spoke the ship Cicero (out of Newburyport), the brig Washington, and the schooners Polly & Sally (out of Newburyport) and Union (out of Salem).
